I got a late, late birthday surprise last night and I was soooo pumped!  My friend Christy got me I Like You: Hospitality Under the Influence by Amy Sedaris.

I have loved Amy Sedaris for a long, long time.  Not to mention the fact that I have read her brother’s books (David Sedaris) so many times that the pages are tattered and stained with bath water.  I’ve picked up this book every time I’ve gone into the bookstore for the last few months and I just wouldn’t buy it.

I am always buying things for other people, but I coveted this one book for all it’s worth and finally, I got it for my birthday.  The book covers everything from “how to throw a party” to “back alley abortions” and I love it.  I can’t wait to cuddle up in the bed tonight with a blanket, some hot chocolate filled with vanilla vodka and this book.

Amy Sedaris would be proud.
