As a certified geek girl, I do have goals. One of those goals is to become a master blogger by the end of next year. This means that I have baby blogs growing all around the internets. There are blogs on geekdom, like this one, blogs on blogging, blogs on zen, blogs on hedonism, blogs on dream interpretation and my newest venture: a blog about relationships.
The Relationship Wizard lets you send in your questions for advice and also has general articles about making your relationships better. I’ve been trying to figure out a good theme to use and I have found one that I LOVE. You can see it by visiting the site. It was hard to find a nice, unusual theme to use that I could operate without having to spend a lot of time learning my way around it.
I would love some feedback on how this site looks so far. Comments on the new site would be great..and if you visit me, I will visit you in return. Also, if you’re a SU user, feel free to give me the thumbs up. Thanks for the support!

I have a secret to share with you. I am a geek.
“That’s no secret!” you say.
True.
How about this?
I’m the kind of geek who collects coke tops.
Better?
Yes, I collect the tops of coke products and enter in the codes at My Coke Rewards . You get 3 points for codes from 20oz coke bottles and 10 points from the code on a 12 pack.
For only 100 points, you can get a free subscription to Wired Magazine. WOOHOO. I got mine in the mail yesterday.
You can get other magazines, too, but this one is my favorite of all the ones that are offered. The best thing is, you can actually redeem your points for gift subscriptions to these magazines.
You know what that means…free Christmas presents! Anyway, it’s easy. No one has to know you’re doing it. Just tell everyone at the office that you are doing a Christmas recycling project and you’ll have those magazines in no time!

This post has been edited and the links have been corrected. Thanks!
What? Twilight premiers tonight at midnight and I’m doing a vampire post not about the movie?! What gives?
Actually, today I thought that in honor of Twilight and all the geeks like me who have kept Stephanie Meyer in business, that I would let you know about another project of mine.
Nocturnal Emissions is my pretty little dream blog. You can submit your dreams via email and they will be commented on/interpreted by my readers.
Last night a reader submitted a vampire dream and I thought that it would be appropriate to post it for review today. So, today I’m asking my geek girl readers to visit and comment on her dream.
Also, please feel free to submit dreams of your own. The blog is fairly new and I would love to have some geek dreams to add to the site. You can submit your dream by emailing it to: asktheoracles@gmail.com.
BTW, for those of you who are wondering about the name Nocturnal Emissions and it’s obvious implications, I decided on it after watching a Sarah Silverman episode.
Happy reading and pleasant dreams.

From way back in the 1920’s this is the world’s first personal portable navigation system.
You could wear the Plus Fours Routefinder on your wrist like a watch. Made for drivers in the UK, the scrolls show the mileage from city to city and even say “stop” when you come to the end of your journey.
Since there weren’t that many cars in the 20’s this device sort of faded away…it’s a shame though. I’d love to get my hands on one.
This, along with other fancy technological gadgets, can be found at the British Library in London.
I wish I had one of these. I have to drive my 76 year old mother to Little Rock, Arkansas this Monday for a concert. She asked me if the GPS on my blackberry worked. I told her that I didn’t need it. She then asked me, “well how are you going to find the arena?!”
Damn, mom, I DO know how to read a map. I also know how to find an address and directions on Yahoo. Geez!

This woman is my new hero. Tanya Vlach lost her left eye in a car accident a few years ago. She got a replacement, but not really the one she wanted.
Her’s is the regular model…the one she wants is a techno-geek’s dream. She would like someone to create a new eye for her that is implanted with a digital webcam. It would capture live stream video and then store it somewhere in her memory.
Can you imagine the implications of this? Talk about a photographic memory! How about a videographic memory!
You can read all about it on her website and if you’re a techno-geek with an idea, you can even respond to her there. She gives some background information about her injury and lists some specs that she would like to see with her new eye.
I hope she gets it. She’s awesome!

Yesterday I wrote about the amazing book (The Hungry Scientist) that my fiancee got me for my birthday. Today I’m here to tell you about part two of the gift. But first, a little history…
I have a problem at work. Well, I have a lot of problems at work, but one of the most annoying is this: my boss steals my food. Every time I bring anything. Without exception. I will walk into the kitchen on my break and there she is…eating whatever it is I brought and put in the fridge.
She makes no apologies…she just stands there eating it and saying, “was this yours?..i thought i would have some.” Since this is my boss, I don’t really feel comfortable saying, “hey! get the fuck away from my food!”.
So, my industrious and hot fiancee found these storage containers on thinkgeek . I was so pumped!! I made some kick ass lasagne last night and took some to work today in the largest container. No one touched it!!!!
Sweet! There is even a little dial on the top of each one that you can set to the date that you stored your stuff…or that you can turn to set it to vent in the microwave.

I am happy to announce that I, geek girl, turned 36 this weekend. I had a wonderful, exciting and alcohol poisoning fiesta in New Orleans, only to arrive home, hungover and find a package awaiting me at the front door.
My fiancee had ordered by birthday present online and it had arrived! I got two awesome gifts! The first was this wonderful book - The Hungry Scientist Handbook. I was so freaking excited!
This book has such projects as how to make LED lollipops and how to make a smokin martini with dry ice. You can also make edible oragami cranes! I cannot wait to begin the projects in this happy little book.
Kudos to the guys over at Hungry Scientist . I look forward to becoming an avid reader of your blog and I hope that you put out another book soon.
Tomorrow: the other most awesome fabulous present that I got from Think Geek !

Thank the gods. Finally, a U.S. president who knows how to use the internet.
Not only is Obama internet savvy, he is also interested in green technology. It’s nice to have leader who can put together a sentence, not to mention one who’s looking forward to helping solve our growing energy problems.
I’m so proud of all the young people who got out to vote. It’s very encouraging. After the debacle of the 2004 elections, it seems that the voting booth technology kinks have finally been worked out.
This country has the technology to do many things. Now we finally have a president who is willing and able to explore all of the wonderful, industrious, creative ideas that we as a nation are capable of.
Cheers to you, Mr. President. And to the lady Obama, who demonstrates a classiness not seen since Jackie O.
Hail to the Geek!

I don’t care who you vote for…I really don’t. But is important for you to put down the x-box and get out there and vote. Right now. Today. You cannot put this off until tomorrow.
My personal endorsement is for Obama. Besides the fact that I really like him and his policies, I am scared shitless of Sarah Palin. She terrifies me. No one who believes that banning books is OK should be allowed within 100 yards of the White House, much less a “heartbeat away” from the presidency!
Personal opinions aside, please go vote. This is a historical election. Do your part.
As they say at Zendik Farms, “Stop bitching. Start a revolution.”

Let’s say you’re at the bar with your friend. He has bet you the next round of drinks that you can’t tell him who wrote “Wind Beneath My Wings.” You know that you can’t go to the bathroom and call a friend because none of your friends would dare admit knowing the answer.
Enter ChaCha. ChaCha is a texting service that allows you to text questions to them and receive answers within 5 minutes or so. You get 20 free questions a month and they can be about anything. And I mean anything.
I am an expiditor for ChaCha. This means that when people text a question, I see it on my computer and form it into something coherant with correct grammar and spelling. Then the question pops up onto the screen of a guide who researches the question and sends back the answer.
I have expidited questions about politics, movies, sex and more sex. And I get paid for doing this from the comfort of my own home in my spare time. The pay isn’t much, but it’s a very intriguing way to make money!
If you have a question, you can text ChaCha at 1-800-2chacha. Ask away!
